PDN Photo of the Day
by admin
I am thrilled to be featured on PDN’s Photo of the day blog today. Click here to check it live. The image posted is very new, I shot it two weeks ago. Still trying to process it all. Right now I’ve titled it The Excavation. One of the definitions of excavate is to expose or uncover by or as if by digging. As I mentioned in a previous post, I find that a lot of my self portraits are about this process of exposing and the discovery to finding your way out of the unknown. I am in my twenties. I am lost. I am alone. I seek direction. I don’t know what will happen tomorrow. Writing this makes it seem that I am depressed and down on life, this is totally not the case, quite the opposite. It’s more the general state of mind of this big unknown at this point in my life. I am excited to see what comes next. Below, more from the shoot.

Congratulations for your PDN photo of the day. I like it.
Also, I like very much your site. Very good work!
Greetings from Romania.
Great photos, I really like your work & blog (found through lenscratch). Can I ask how you do your self portraits – you set up the camera with a large DOF to allow the whole thing in focus, and do you use a timer or a remote to activate the camera? It must be hard to previsualise the image when you’re not in it to do the framing. Thanks
