The Do Something Awards

I was hired a last month for a great assignment shooting the 15 finalists for the Do Something Awards. If you’re not familiar with this organization, be sure to check it out. The Do Something Awards honor the best young world-changers, 25 and under, that are making the world a better place. They represent the pivotal doers in their field, cause or issue. These kids were amazing! They have now been narrowed down to 5 nominees, who you can read about here. The Awards will air live on VH1 on July 19th and one lucky winner will be given the $100,000 grand prize to use toward their cause.

The other day while killing time in the east village, I ran into, well saw from a distance, Chuck Guarino. I had previsouly met and shot Chuck for Time Out a while back.

which reminded me that I had been wanting to post these images of his friend and business partner Ryan Turner

I was happy the other day to get a call from the photo editor at La Cucina Italiana inquiring whether I had any outtakes from a previous shoot with Massimo Vignelli. Why indeed I did! And here it is, apologies for the terrible scan.

And speaking of tear sheets, just got my portrait of Ben Kaufman profiled in this month’s Resource Magazine.

And this old photo of Nicola Vassell was republished in this months Essence Magazine, again sorry for bad scan
