Ode to Print

Delighted to receive this little gem in the mail the other day. Jonathan Cherry really does seem to get it. This nifty printed piece is successfully part magazine, part portfolio, part marketing material.

Adam Amengual

I really enjoyed hearing about Adam Amengual’s work and career over at Heather Mortons blog. I have been following her Year in the Life series in which she follows two emerging photographers, Jamie Hogge and Grant Harder, making their way up in the field.  It was refreshing this morning to hear about one more photographer [...]

Grassroots Soccer

Incredible photo essay in today’s New York Times by Belgian-born photographer Jessica Hilltout. Jessica traveled across  Africa for seven months to capture the continent’s love of soccer pre-world cup 2010. See full essay here.

Monica Orozco

A few weeks ago saw this post over at Lenscratch and just love the work so thought I’d share. A simple fresh idea well executed. Nice job Monica Orozco! “It Lasted 16 Outfits”is a re-enactment of five weeks of my misadventures in dating in L.A. The first bloom of love may fade quickly, but a [...]

I think I’ve blogged about Shen Wei before. He has just released a new series on his website though that I wanted to share. As someone who also takes a lot of self portraits, often naked, you can see why I was immediately drawn to this body of work. Often I question the why of [...]

If you follow my blog, you probably know that I’m a bit of a photo groupie. Can I just say how much I loved going out last night in Chelsea and running into pretty much everyone I know and admire. Something to be said about community. Managed to get to three photo openings. Throw in [...]

Julie Blackmon

Just got sucked into the world of Julie Blackmon as I listened to an artist talk of her’s on her gallery’s website. As someone who enjoys photographing family, I’m completely drawn to this simultaneously real and fictional life that she brings us into.

Clara de Tezanos

Like the past two NYPH Festivals, this year I have again decided to help out and volunteer. I have found it to be a great way to get involved, meet new people and of course, get a free pass! Today I began my official duties. I was assigned to help out with installation at the [...]
